The big brands add $15 to $30 a day in young driver fees. That’s $105 to $210 a week before you touch the keys. We hire ages 21 to 75 at one price. The only difference under 25 is a higher insurance excess, and it’s stated up front.

Before you book
What you need to book.
Five things, and most people already have them. An overseas licence is fine, as long as it’s a full licence.

Your full driver licence
A full Australian licence, or a full overseas licence.

IDP or certified translation
Only if your licence isn’t in English: an International Driving Permit or a certified English translation.

Passport
Only if you’re not on an Australian licence.
- 4
A credit or debit card
For payments and the $400 bond. Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
- 5
Proof of address
A recent bill, bank statement, or your accommodation lease. Anything official with your name and current address.

- Insurance excess
- $2,000 for drivers 25+, $3,000 for 21 to 24. The weekly rate is the same at every age.
- Excess Reduction
- Optional, $30 a week, drops the excess to $800 or $1,500.
- Bond
- $400, refunded to the same card about 2 weeks after return, less any outstanding tolls or charges.
- Cancellation
- Free 7+ days before pickup, 50% inside 7 days, no refund inside 36 hours.
- Fuel
- Bring it back full, or $2.20 a litre for what’s missing, and the litre price is the whole charge.
- Kilometres
- 500 km a week included, counted from the car’s GPS and shown in your booking page. Need more? Tell us and we’ll price it before you drive.
- Roadside callout
- 24/7 RACV roadside is included. If the callout was your doing (keys locked in, empty tank, lights left on), RACV’s fee is passed on at cost, no markup, and we show you RACV’s invoice: $132 in Melbourne, $317 with a tow.
- Tolls
- The toll at cost plus a $3 admin fee, and the $3 is the whole margin.
- Fines and infringements
- The fine at cost plus a $5 admin fee, and the $5 is the whole margin.
- Late return
- $35 per 24-hour period past your booked return.
- Minimum charge
- $150 per hire. Short hires are still bookable, they just do not go below $150.
- Extensions
- Extend anytime at the same weekly rate, just message us at least 48 hours before your return date.
