Excess Reduction

$30/week

  • Damage to the hire car
  • Third party liability
  • Theft protection
  • 24/7 RACV roadside assistance
  • Significantly reduced excess

Excess (25+): $800

What does excess mean?

The excess is the maximum amount you would pay out of pocket if the vehicle is damaged during your rental. With Standard Protection, that's $2,000 (25 and over) or $3,000 (21 to 24). Add Excess Reduction for $30/week ($10 a day on daily hires) and it drops to $800 or $1,500 respectively, significantly less financial risk for you, especially on longer rentals.

What's covered.

Damage to the hire car.

Covers damage to the hire car in a collision with another vehicle or object, above your excess.

Third party liability.

Covers damage caused to third party vehicles and property. Ask us for the current policy details before your hire if you want the specifics in writing.

Theft protection.

Covers loss of the vehicle due to theft or attempted theft, subject to excess.

24/7 RACV roadside assistance.

RACV emergency roadside help including lockouts, flat batteries and towing, around the clock, at no cost to you when the car is at fault. If the callout was your doing, RACV’s fee is passed on at cost: $132 in Melbourne, $317 with a tow.
