Car off the road? Hire ours by the week.
In the panel shop, written off, or waiting on the next one to arrive. One weekly rate with insurance and roadside in it, extend as the repair runs, hand it back when yours is home.
Built for the in between.
Four ways people end up without a car for a few weeks. All of them hire the same way.
Your car is in for repairs.
A smash repair that was quoted at a fortnight and is now a month, or a mechanical job waiting on a part. Hire by the week and extend with 48 hours notice when the shop calls to say it needs longer.
Your car has been written off.
The payout takes time, and so does finding the next car. A weekly hire covers the gap, and you hand it back when the replacement is in the driveway.
You sold first and are still looking.
The old car went to a buyer before the new one turned up, or the finance approval is a week or two away. Same weekly rate, same car from day one.
It broke down and the verdict is unclear.
The mechanic is still deciding whether it is worth fixing. Take a car for the week while you find out, and keep it week by week if the answer is no.
What it costs.
One weekly rate per car with everything already in it. 30 cars are listed today, and any of them can be collected from either branch.
Under 28 days, from $215 a week
The standard weekly rate on the cheapest cars in the fleet. Minimum hire is 2 days, and the minimum charge on any hire is $150.
28 days or more, from $175 a week
The long term rate, which most repair waits end up on. Every car shows its own weekly rate on the listing, and the rate you see is the rate you pay.
$400 bond
Charged at booking and refunded to the same card about 2 weeks after you return, less any outstanding tolls or charges.
$2,000 or $3,000 excess
Standard Protection carries a $2,000 excess for drivers 25 and over and $3,000 for 21 to 24. Excess Reduction at $30 a week brings those down to $800 and $1,500.
Every rate, fee and figure on one page: prices and terms.
Why repair waits choose Savvy.
Weekly billing, no lock in.
Hire for the weeks you expect the repair to take and extend with 48 hours notice if it runs over. Plenty of long term rental products start at 30 days; ours runs from 2.
One price, everything in it.
Standard Protection damage cover, 24/7 RACV roadside, servicing, rego and 500 km a week are all inside the weekly rate. The one optional extra is Excess Reduction at $30 a week.

Bring three things.
A full Australian or overseas licence, photo ID, and something official with your current address. An International Driving Permit or certified translation as well if the licence is not in English.
Pay and drive.
First week plus the $400 bond at booking. Collect from Malvern or South Melbourne, then extend week by week until your own car is back.
Common questions.
I was not at fault in the accident. Should I still hire from you?
Ask the other driver's insurer first. When the other driver is at fault, their insurer often covers a replacement car for you while yours is repaired, and some firms arrange that at no cost to you. Savvy hires are paid by the hirer, so this page is for the times that cover does not apply: you were at fault, your own insurer's hire-car benefit has run out, the car broke down, or you are waiting on a payout or finance.
The repairer says two weeks. What if it takes four?
Extend with 48 hours notice before your return date and the hire keeps rolling at the same weekly rate. Once the whole hire reaches 28 days the long term rate applies, so a repair that drags on costs less per week rather than more.
What if my car is ready early?
Tell us as soon as you know. A hire is billed for the dates you book, and the return terms are set out in the agreement you sign before you drive, so read those before you choose your dates. The safest approach when the timing is uncertain is to book the shorter window and extend.
Can I pick up today?
Online bookings open from tomorrow. If you need a car today, call 0485 018 888 and we will tell you what is free at each branch and whether we can have it ready.
How much does a 3-week hire cost?
On the cheapest cars in the fleet, 3 weeks is billed at the standard weekly rate of $215 a week, so $645 in rent, plus the $400 bond which comes back after you return. Every car shows its own rate on the listing and the checkout shows the same number.
Can my partner drive it too?
Yes, at no charge. Add their details and licence on the booking page and we approve them before they drive. They need to meet the same criteria as you: 21 to 75, a full licence, and a passport if the licence is not Australian.
Somewhere else to start.
Weighing a hire against a daily rental for a short gap, the weekly versus daily comparison runs the numbers. Past 28 days, the long term page spells out how weekly billing runs, and insurance covers the excess in detail.
